Mentoring Program

Latinas Writing Science is a mentoring program where we guide you through the publication process of your scientific paper.  Together, we review, edit and help you publish your scientific manuscript in Huitaca's journal "Global women's science, nature and society".

The Latinas Writing Science Program is a dedicated mentoring initiative designed to support female authors in Latin America in publishing their research in Global Women's Science, Nature and Society (GWSNS).  Through a series of one-on-one virtual sessions, our Spanish-speaking mentors work closely with you to refine the structure, coherence, and impact of your manuscript. Once your paper is strengthened, our volunteer editors will enhance its language to ensure clarity and accessibility.

Unlike traditional publication processes that place the burden on authors, we handle every step—from mentorship and editing to submission and publication. Once your manuscript is polished, we will submit it directly to GWSNS, ensuring a seamless process so you can focus on your research.

This program is designed to eliminate common barriers in scientific publishing, making it easier for Latin American women to share their work with the world.

What the program can do for you

Step 1

Let's talk about you and your project

We want to understand the message you want to convey and the importance of your research.

Step 2

Let's tell a nice story

Is your story clear and easy to understand? Let's declutter your manuscript of unnecessary information so your findings can shine bright.

Step 3

Is this Spanglish or Portuglish?

It does not matter - our volunteers will fix the English for you.

Step 4

And ... Submit!

Our mentors stick around to help you edit the cover letter, understand journal guidelines and respond to reviewers.
